Ingredients
- 1 box Duncan Hines Golden Butter Cake Mix
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 stick butter
- 6 eggs ( 3 for the cake, 3 for the ricotta mixture)
- 16 ounces ricotta
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- grated zest of either one lemon OR one orange
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare the cake batter as directed on the package combining mix, water, softened butter and eggs. Mix well and pour into a greased 11 X 14 pan.
- For the ricotta portion, mix ricotta, vanilla and sugar and beat well. Add remaining 3 eggs, one at a time. Fold in the lemon or orange zest and blend well.
- Pour the ricotta mixture on top of the cake batter in the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake at 350 for one hour.
- Optionally sprinkle with confectionary powder, cut and enjoy.
